Do we really need stand alone eBook readers for the price of $400?

As if Kindle wasn’t enough, here comes the closest competitor to Amazon’s overrated e-Book reader ‘Kindle’ and it’s called JetBook.

I was wondering about the price of Kindle when it was launched and now I am thinking again. Why these devices are priced so high (for a stand alone eBook reader)? They are nothing more than a monochrome screen with some cheap processor. And the fact that Kindle was sold out in just 5.5 hrs is as surprising as its price tag.

They cost almost what EEE PC does, hopefully someone like ASUS will come out with their own version of eBook reader that is priced decently (and deservingly).

Check details of this Kindle killer (I’ll say that just for the sake of it) on PocketJunk

For all you guys wanting to read books on your very own mobile phones, just google tequilacatreader and you will get a few sites offering this free open source software. Download it and you can convert major formats like PDF,TXT,Word, etc into app files and then upload it to your mobile phones through a data cable. Believe me, this is one hell of a way to read ebooks and ipmart-forum and esnips have a huge load of freely downloadable ebooks. I’ve been reading books on my mobile phone for a year now, absolutely free
